MOVEE is CAAL’s leadership program aimed at supporting, developing and sustaining Asian Minnesotan social justice movement leaders. MOVEE offers leaders intentional space for deep self reflection, growing each leaders roots, as well as strengthening the leaders social network so that they can sustain themselves as they work for justice, equity and prosperity. Over three retreats – June 21-23, July 19-21, and August 16-18, 2019 – MOVEE leaders will:
1) Reflect deeply on the “For what?” of their leadership using a social justice movement framework,
2) Develop skills and knowledge to be more effective social justice movement builders, and
3) Work on sustaining ones leadership for the social justice movement fight for justice, equity and prosperity.
If selected, leaders also become a part of a growing alumni network that’s building a stronger ecosystem of support for each other’s work and growth. All cohort members will be expected to attend all three sessions and to complete a cluster of work in between sessions.
This program is made available by the generous support of our funders, so there is currently no cost to the selected participants. If a participant is from outside of the Twin Cities 7 county metro area, we will provide a travel stipend.
